The Canalside Heritage Centre is a vibrant hub for visitors to enjoy and explore, with an enticing tea room, welcoming gift shop and interpretation centre, as well as tranquil gardens and lots of activities to delight in.
Enjoy a walk along the river or the canal, either with one of our volunteer walk leaders or at your leisure. Look out for the many boats, enjoy the changing colours and sunshine on the water and enjoy the plentiful wildlife that can be found at any time of year. Take a stroll along the canal to watch the boats, birds and unwind with the tranquillity of the still waters.
Our exhibitions can be enjoyed for a small fee and you can explore one of the original cottages, taking the twisty staircase upstairs to the Stories of the Cut gallery, filled with a collection of tantalising tales of life in the cottages and here on the canal.
