Spring Meeting 2022

Wednesday, 30th March, 3-5pm at the Cathedral of St Barnabas, North Circus Street, Nottingham NG1 5AE

Join us for our first meeting of the year, where we’ll have the opportunity to learn about a project to restore the Pugin interior of St Barnabas Cathedral, to share with one another and to network.

Peter Rogan, Conservation Architect and Director of Peter Rogan and Associates Limited, will present on St Barnabas Cathedral’s National Lottery Pugin Heritage Project, which aims to not only restore the Pugin interior of the Cathedral but to engage with the community of Nottingham to raise awareness of the rich history of the Cathedral, a hidden Pugin gem in the heart of the city.  Working with Nottingham Trent University and conservation specialists will allow the architectural story of the building to be unlocked, which can then be shared with the public.

Peter Rogan is the Cathedral Architect to the Catholic Cathedral Church of St. Barnabas in Nottingham. The Cathedral was built in the 1830s to the designs of the important neo-Gothic architect A.W.N. Pugin.  Recent work has included support for the successful application to the Cathedral’s WW1 Fund in respect of above and below-ground drainage improvements and also improvements for access for people with disabilities.

During the meeting there will be time to network, enjoy light refreshments and there will be a guided tour of the Cathedral from 4.30pm.

A meeting agenda will be emailed prior to those who have registered.

The cost of the meeting is included in your membership.  Forum meetings are open to members (paid membership for 2021-2022) and non-members alike.  Non-members can ‘try out’ the Forum as observers for up to two meetings before membership of the Forum is required.  We’re a friendly and supportive group and hope you’ll consider joining.  For information about individual or institutional membership, please see: https://www.nottsheritage.co.uk/featured/ or contact us on info@nottsheritage.co.uk to request a membership invoice.
